Hoarse...
Just realized that it’s probably time to write again to keep up with everything that’s happens. Yesterday I came back from a two days trip to Malmö, which was great! It was the
We have also started with the main task for the Visual Communication module. We are doing a design concept for Wallet space, which is the product from last module. The presentation is on Thursday and we have still a lot to do. A mock up for the web site has to be done, a graphical profile and also budget, design strategy and communication strategy. I will try to do my best as a project manager, and I have realized that I need to take even more responsibility then I’ve done so far in this group.

Visual Communication
New module again, the time is running away. We were all happy to finish the last module after a presentation on Swedbank. We didn’t get any money as we might had expected, but after all I feel I have learned a lot (as usual in this amazing school) The fact that I have been too lazy when it comes to learning design is a bit annoying though. Have to plan my time better and probably spend even more time in school and less time on Facebook:) But at the same time is personally impossible for me to sit in front of a computer 12 hours a day, hm.. yeah, will find a solution to that as well..
So, now to the module visual communication. Everyone seems to be happy after everything we have written, and this time will be able to work with design, I’m not sure if I can say the same. Will instead say I’m afraid of what’s coming, and even more what’s coming afterwards; Portfolio. We also got the information that we will spend next module in the same groups as before which I think no one in my group was pretty satisfied with. At least we are aware of it and I hope we will do the best of the situation. The portfolio angst disappeared a bit today when I bought domain and I also realized what lovely friends I have (they will help me all way to my grave..) I also realized that my dad is good to have during anxiety and busy Christmas days. (Also have to write better English after complaints from dad about “swenglish” translations in this blog!)
Today we have been painting whole day and Stevens Henri, the lovely French artist, taught us about colour psychology. And yesterday the American Greg Henriques taught us good stuff about how to express feelings and thoughts behind design. We have got many small individual tasks which is perfect for me right now to keep going practice the programs...

Almost there
Just saw a lecture from “The day of knowledge” at Youtube. It’s Fredrik Hären (brother of Theo Hären who had lecture at HI) who’s seeing how the developing world is passing the “developed west world”. It gave me much to think about… See it!

I also want to praise Jonathan Briggs who had a great lecture yesterday, learned a lot, hoping for more or those lectures.

Two weeks left
After a nice weekend in
I also noticed that I missed to mention about our “dice success”. We are selling our dice from last module to a company who want to make a mobile play out of it! If we are lucky they might sell it to Ericsson or Motorola, which would be crazy! We’ll wait and see…

Concept Development
New module, new group. But first a little up date from last module. The exhibition went very well. It was two exiting and extremely busy weeks. I was working non-stop and I think the exhibition team did more then anyone ever expected. We succeeded and came up with seven projectors, five 13-meters fabrics, tables, lamps, flowers and candy. And on top of that both newspaper and radio came! Our wii- dice worked as good as it could too. Everyone loved it and tried really hard to make it to the high score list. I’m happy I was project leader for this project because it was really necessary to do good job for everything to work, I learned a lot. One thing I realized was to give very clear directions and never expect people to make own initiatives.
So, the weekend was well deserved. And the feeling I had before this module Concept and developing, was that I’m happy to don’t be project manager for a while! No, actually; I loved it! We divided us into groups, and I came with people I never worked with before which was good. I also came with the Italian Simone which is great for my English:)
Our first task was to come up with 50 business ideas within digital media, per group. A good practise for brainstorming… We have 33 so far.. After that we need a top five, then one idea we can develop and try to get a loan from the bank to carry out our project.

Exhibition
Project manager for the whole exhibition... opps again:) No, I will survive! And I will be a happy and proud survivor. Definitely.
The exhibition representatives met last Friday. We are not able to visit Båskasernen where we will have the exhibition during this week, so a meeting was necessary to decide where each group will be and also what we have and what we need in the room. We also appointed roles within the group and will follow up with a meeting tomorrow to set up deadlines and work over following two weeks.

Experience Technology
New assignment, new task, and more fun! The group is great and really feels good now after almost a week. We started up with a little “starter”-task which made the group get to know each other better but also practise the way of thinking in this module.
We started up a bit slow and I thought it was a bit hard to “think outside the box”, but right now I think we going to come up with the best solution ever:)

More information society…
This module is not far from the end today and tomorrow it’s time for presentation. We finished the text and document about north central
But today everything seems to go on again. Two people are working a lot with the motion presentation. I think it will be good and I’m going to think about to don’t compare ourselves with the other groups too much. When we did the 60sek movies it was nearly impossible to do compare, because of the totally different ideas, which is not the state in this assignment.

Motion, individual assignment: 15 seconds film
This assignment was in the beginning totally frightening, but turned out to be really fun. My ideas from the beginning weren’t what it became later on, but to be the first I ever done in after effects, I must say that I am pretty satisfied…
Many hours in the cell, trying, trying and trying. “Learning by doin” – yes, true!
Motion, group assignment: 60 seconds film
This group assignment was at the same time as the Information Society module during our motion week. We were going to create a 60 seconds long movie including both filmed and animated material. The groups were the information society groups, which were really good because of the planning of time and work; otherwise it could have been very complicated.
We started with an hour long brainstorming about subjects. Everyone was pretty tired, so we came up with many funny and less realistic themes… After a while did we all agree about to make a movie about oranges! I think we thought about the Sony advertisement with all the balls falling down the street.
Next morning we had around 30 oranges and we started to record. Our first plan was to do it outside, but it was raining really badly and we only had this camera booked for one evening, so we did it indoor instead.
Information society
After this first two fun weeks in Karlskrona was it time to start with the first module, information society. We divided the class by ourselves into ten groups (five persons in each) after what country/part of the world we wanted to research. I chose northern Europe because my interest in Germany/Holland for a possible future internship. The people in my group was only people I knew pretty well, which was good in one way, but bad in another. Have to think about this in the next module…
Well, everything turned out to be easy in our group; we had the countries Holland, Germany, Russia, Belgium, Austria, and Schweiz and we divided them after our personal interests. I got Germany, which I am happy for! We were now responsible for our own country, and this made it easier to search for good agencies and send mail to them that we had written together earlier.
We thought this would be an easy assignment, but started to worry a bit after some days with only two replies. We were stressed to, because of three more assignments at the same time… After one week we started to call the agencies that never replied our mails. I was lucky and got tree interviews. It was worse for Kim in my group who had Russia… We recorded the calls on skype, and it was easy to listen to them afterwards. They turned out to be worse then we thought though. The information from the written emails was better with more facts and thoughts behind, and the spoken ones was more easy and similar to each other.
Now we are going to put everything together to the deadline on Wednesday 12am, and also a 20 minutes presentation to Thursday.
The first time at Hyper – Karlskrona
Okay, then it is time. Time to start to think about what I am actually doing. The time is going so fast, and we are doing so many things so it is not really easy to reflect over everything that happens. Anyway, that’s why this little assignment during this year is so perfect for me I guess. So, to start with we have done the most gorgeous movie I ever seen… and then I have done the most gorgeous movie I ever seen, ok, maybe not, but on the list top 10 maybe?
To start from the beginning I can quickly reflect over the first days, teambuilding and the UGL-course. “The time goes fast when you have fun” – and yes, it certainly does! The first days at Hyper Island were very exiting and different. And after the presentations days we started the UGL-course in group dynamics and leadership. It was very different compared to what I have been doing so far. First of all was the week very intensive and the days were long, but atthe same time very interesting and gave me a lot to think about.
