Exhibition

Project manager for the whole exhibition... opps again:) No, I will survive! And I will be a happy and proud survivor. Definitely.

The exhibition representatives met last Friday. We are not able to visit Båskasernen where we will have the exhibition during this week, so a meeting was necessary to decide where each group will be and also what we have and what we need in the room. We also appointed roles within the group and will follow up with a meeting tomorrow to set up deadlines and work over following two weeks.

Wiiiiii

Finally we have got our main task for this module: Wii. Yesterday when we got it I was a bit worried. But when I thought more about that I would have thought: opps, in case we got one of the other tasks as well… But after a quick research in the motion activity I was very happy with Wii. No one in my group has much experience about Wii, but I’m sure it won’t be any problems to come up with a product.
Today we had a little group follow up. It was nice to sit down and talk for an hour with a coach, but still not that important though our group work very well together. After this we sat down in the café with a big paper and brainstormed. I think this was something we taught from the last task, that we should take it easy in the beginning, don’t stress, but also use our fantasy, experiences and listen to each other. We came up with an idea, divided roles and work and planed our following two weeks.

I will be responsible for the exhibition which means a lot of work, but also loads of fun to do, and I have no doubt that this wont be two very interesting weeks!

Experience Technology

New assignment, new task, and more fun! The group is great and really feels good now after almost a week. We started up with a little “starter”-task which made the group get to know each other better but also practise the way of thinking in this module.

We started up a bit slow and I thought it was a bit hard to “think outside the box”, but right now I think we going to come up with the best solution ever:)

More information society…

This module is not far from the end today and tomorrow it’s time for presentation. We finished the text and document about north central Europe today after a lot of work. We did a lot yesterday and for the first time during this two group modules, I felt that the work and communication in the group didn’t work that good as it could have done. We have to make our meetings better. Perhaps the fact that we don’t have a project manager is the reason to this.

But today everything seems to go on again. Two people are working a lot with the motion presentation. I think it will be good and I’m going to think about to don’t compare ourselves with the other groups too much. When we did the 60sek movies it was nearly impossible to do compare, because of the totally different ideas, which is not the state in this assignment.

Motion, individual assignment: 15 seconds film

This assignment was in the beginning totally frightening, but turned out to be really fun. My ideas from the beginning weren’t what it became later on, but to be the first I ever done in after effects, I must say that I am pretty satisfied…

Many hours in the cell, trying, trying and trying. “Learning by doin” – yes, true!

Motion, group assignment: 60 seconds film

This group assignment was at the same time as the Information Society module during our motion week. We were going to create a 60 seconds long movie including both filmed and animated material. The groups were the information society groups, which were really good because of the planning of time and work; otherwise it could have been very complicated.

We started with an hour long brainstorming about subjects. Everyone was pretty tired, so we came up with many funny and less realistic themes… After a while did we all agree about to make a movie about oranges! I think we thought about the Sony advertisement with all the balls falling down the street.

Next morning we had around 30 oranges and we started to record. Our first plan was to do it outside, but it was raining really badly and we only had this camera booked for one evening, so we did it indoor instead.

Information society

After this first two fun weeks in Karlskrona was it time to start with the first module, information society. We divided the class by ourselves into ten groups (five persons in each) after what country/part of the world we wanted to research. I chose northern Europe because my interest in Germany/Holland for a possible future internship. The people in my group was only people I knew pretty well, which was good in one way, but bad in another. Have to think about this in the next module…

Well, everything turned out to be easy in our group; we had the countries Holland, Germany, Russia, Belgium, Austria, and Schweiz and we divided them after our personal interests. I got Germany, which I am happy for! We were now responsible for our own country, and this made it easier to search for good agencies and send mail to them that we had written together earlier.

We thought this would be an easy assignment, but started to worry a bit after some days with only two replies. We were stressed to, because of three more assignments at the same time… After one week we started to call the agencies that never replied our mails. I was lucky and got tree interviews. It was worse for Kim in my group who had Russia… We recorded the calls on skype, and it was easy to listen to them afterwards. They turned out to be worse then we thought though. The information from the written emails was better with more facts and thoughts behind, and the spoken ones was more easy and similar to each other.

Now we are going to put everything together to the deadline on Wednesday 12am, and also a 20 minutes presentation to Thursday.

The first time at Hyper – Karlskrona

Okay, then it is time. Time to start to think about what I am actually doing. The time is going so fast, and we are doing so many things so it is not really easy to reflect over everything that happens. Anyway, that’s why this little assignment during this year is so perfect for me I guess. So, to start with we have done the most gorgeous movie I ever seen… and then I have done the most gorgeous movie I ever seen, ok, maybe not, but on the list top 10 maybe?

To start from the beginning I can quickly reflect over the first days, teambuilding and the UGL-course. “The time goes fast when you have fun” – and yes, it certainly does! The first days at Hyper Island were very exiting and different. And after the presentations days we started the UGL-course in group dynamics and leadership. It was very different compared to what I have been doing so far. First of all was the week very intensive and the days were long, but atthe same time very interesting and gave me a lot to think about.
